Italy routinely exports more wine than any other country.  However, much of it is bulk wine, sold for blending elsewhere, and until the 1970's, little of the country's best wine was exported.  However, Italy is finally showing its full commercial potential, and Italian winemaking facilities are some of the most modern in Europe.  ExCellar's Italian wine range reflects this, and we stock wines from every price point that will capture your imagination. We list aromatic and floral wines from the northern Italy from the regions of Friuli and Alto Adige, close to the Alps, and we also sell wines that become  fuller and richer, (Amarone),  the further south they are made.  The most powerful originate from Puglia, Campania and Sicily.  It is also from the south of the country that you can often find the best value.
